My Review
I need to start by saying that paranormal is not my favored genre. I am the mother of a 14 girl and have heard all I ever want to hear about vampires and werewolves, so I was, at best, reluctant to read this. BUT I’M SO GLAD I DID. One of the reasons, I loved the book (yes, I said LOVED) is because Mac is a regular girl thrown into an irregular world. Mac is also from a small town in Georgia. As someone who shares the same background, you’ll just have to trust me when I say the author nailed it. The character background was perfect and believable. Mac remains very real in an unreal world, and as she learns to accept the outrageous as reality, so does the reader. She was also easy to root for and support. I was as heartbroken, scared, mad, bewildered, and intrigued as Mac, silently fighting along beside her. I found myself staying up late (really late) to read. And to think this is only the beginning of this series, of Mac’s fight. Can’t wait to see what she faces and conquers in the next book. And please, please, please - Let Jericho turn out to be one of the good guys.
